and Sudha win First Women Award
On Wednesday night, co-founders and Artistic Directors
Kristine Landon-Smith and Sudha Bhuchar were named as winners in the
sixth annual First
awards - sponsored by Lloyds Banking Group, supported
by the CBI and with Sarah Brown as patron - recognise female
pioneers across British business, professional and public

House of Bilquis Bibi rehearsals begin
Ila Arun flies into London this weekend for the start of rehearsals
House of Bilquis Bibi on Monday.
you're unfamiliar with Ila's work as an actress, you may know
her as a singer on songs like Choli
Ke Peeche Kya from the film Khalnayak
(for which she won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award)
and A R Rahman's Ringa
Ringa from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.

Last month, Tamasha, Circus
Space and sound/visual artist Oswaldo
Macia came together to take part in the second
weeklong workshop for The
Arrival. Kristine and co-creator Sita Brahmachari
worked with thirteen circus performers from the north London
school together with actors Charlie Folorunsho and Shalini
Peiris to develop a number of scenes from the book - you can

To widen the pool of performers for The
Arrival, we are taking positive action by teaming
up with Upswing
and the Circus
Space to run an intensive two-week training course
for black, Asian and minority ethnic actors, dancers and physical
performers who wish to try their hand at circus and aerial
course will take place from 26 July - 7 August
at the Circus Space in north London and is offered free of
charge to successful candidates. The deadline for applications

new Creative Producer. Emma has extensive experience of creatively
producing theatre and music events. We're
also pleased to announce that Julia Good moves into the role
of General Manager, and we welcome Felicity Davidson as our
new Administration Assistant.
