Blood spring tour announced! / Soho Scratch Night 12 January / artist opportunities + more

Seasonal Greetings from all at Tamasha! First up we are very happy to announce that our new production, Blood, a searing new urban love story by Emteaz Hussain, will be touring the UK from 28 March 2015.

We kick off the New Year with a host of events throughout January; on the 12th we launch Tamasha Playwrights, Fin’s new writers’ group, with a scratch selection of their work at new partner venue Soho Theatre, from the 9th – 18th Kristine Landon-Smith returns to the UK for some of her famous masterclasses, and we host a free producing event on the 23rd. We are looking forward to our 25th Birthday year ahead – in fact Tamasha’s first play Untouchable opened 25 years ago this month - watch this space for exciting events and celebrations!

Just a few of 2014’s highlights have included My Name is... captivating audiences and garnering critical acclaim up and down the UK (on the 2nd March listen out for My Name is… as BBC Radio 4’s Afternoon Play), Rich Mix playing host to three sell-out scratch nights on ‘mothers and daughters’, ‘regional voices’ and ‘community’, showcasing Golden Hearts in partnership with the British Heart Foundation and Schoolwrights, a festival of short plays written for, and performed by, London’s school students. TDA has had a jam-packed year including training in directing, acting, writing, improvisation, immersive theatre and more, with a host of exciting practitioners.

A huge thank you to you, our wonderful audiences, supporters, friends, partners and collaborators for your invaluable ongoing support.

love ain’t something you just say
just this word
it’s something you do

Caneze meets Sully in the college canteen. The heat rises over triple chilli sauce in Nando’s. She makes her move in the sweet smoke of a shisha bar. A touchpaper is lit... but neither of them bargained on the lengths to which her brother would go to keep them apart. Blood is a heartfelt new play by the writer of the critically acclaimed Sweet Cider.
