|| Child of the Divide
29 September – 15 October, Polka Theatre London + National Tour
Presented by Bhuchar Boulevard in association with Big Imaginations,
Partition History Project and Polka Theatre
By Sudha Bhuchar
Directed by Jim Pope
We are delighted to announce that Tamasha's co-founder Sudha Bhuchar is launching her new company Bhuchar Boulevard with a revival of her compelling play Child of the Divide, a remarkable story of family, identity and belonging; marking the 70th anniversary of the partition of India. The world premiere in 2006 was Timeout's No 1 show for families that year and was critically acclaimed.
“A wonderful and mature play that uses the story of one child to explore the tragedy of many thousands…it’s a rare show with equal appeal to kids and adults, heart and head”
Lyn Gardner, Guardian
The London run is followed by a national tour which includes launching the Big Imaginations Festival at Z-arts in October.
