This workshop is open to directors, theatre-makers and actors from all cultural backgrounds.

Theatre of the Oppressed is a collection of accessible theatre games, exercises, improvisation, devising, rehearsal, interactive performance techniques that question uses of power and seek to address social and personal change. The work was developed by Augusto Boal and his fellow artists in Brazil in response to military dictatorships in Latin America in the 1960s, but have gone on to be the most widely used collection of theatre methods for social change, in a range of community, social and educational contexts, all over the world.

Forum Theatre is an interactive performance technique that is probably the most popular and widely used of all the Theatre of the Oppressed techniques.

Cost

£50 (inc VAT) for the full day.
