Directing audio drama with community participants (via Zoom)

Thursday 25th June 2020, 10am-12pm, via Zoom

Although the world is in lockdown now and we are not able to physically meet, the value of creative community engagement is now more important and relevant than ever, and in anticipation of life returning to normal in the not-too-distant-future we are running a live 2-hour workshop with Director Sita Thomas on directing audio with community participants.

How is directing audio drama different from working with actors in a rehearsal room?

How do you get the best out of your team and create an enjoyable experience?

With a focus on working with community participants, in this virtual workshop, you’ll join facilitator Sita Thomas as she guides you through the basics of directing audio dramas. You’ll go through working with actors, creating an enjoyable experience, how to break down script, planning, and preparation. There will be practical exercises for the group to engage with, as you consider the importance of audio drama in our current times, and possibilities of remote recording.
