Headphone Verbatim Technique with Kristine Landon-Smith

A week long workshop, training and performance opportunity from Tamasha's co-founder.

Apply by 26th January to projects@tamasha.org.uk.

Immediate, nimble and authentic; headphone verbatim allows for a fast and agile response to the quickly changing political landscape. In developing this technique, its pioneers, Anna Deveare-Smith and Mark Wing Davey led a revolution in theatre in 1990s America.

We're offering a unique training and performance opportunity to artists in the headphone verbatim technique with the chance to make and perform in a headphone verbatim show at Rich Mix on 17th February 2018. Kristine Landon-Smith, previous Artistic Director of Tamasha, will lead a week long workshop teaching the headphone verbatim technique: this includes how to interview, the purpose of the edit, how to edit and how to perform. This will give participants the tools to respond rapidly to the issues of the day - a method that could not be more crucial in the current global political climate.

The week will culminate in the performance at Rich Mix where the participants will showcase the pieces they have developed throughout the week.

There are 15 places available and artists are asked to submit a short statement of interest plus an accompanying cv or short biography.
