Iqbal Khan, Director

Acting Masterclasses

2 day Actors' masterclass with director Iqbal Khan

Date: Tuesday 21st – Wednesday 22nd October 2014

Deadline: Monday 6th October, midday

(London Venue: TBC)

Due to popular demand, director Iqbal Khan is back to host a 2 day masterclass for actors!

This opportunity is open to artists from all cultural backgrounds and if you have already participated in one of Iqbal’s masterclasses, we’d love to welcome you back again.

These masterclasses will focus on approaching complex language in plays, ranging from Shakespeare to Contemporary Texts. He will look at how actors can find this complex voice in texts which tackle big ideas. The workshops will draw on different texts as a stimulus.

Tamasha first worked with Iqbal on our 5* production of Snookered by Ishy Din in 2011.

“Working with Iqbal has been one of the most useful periods in my career as a director. Throughout the project it was clear that I was working alongside a very instinctive and confident artist.”

TDA Assistant Director to Iqbal Khan on Snookered

“The most accomplished and assured first play I have seen for years"

 The Independent, 5 stars (Snookered)

“I loved the fact that it was not all white, middle class actors! It was like being in a proper London setting.”

“This was the first all day workshop I have been to. It made me crave work and auditions!”

“There is nowhere with as inclusive and interesting a participating workshop group as Tamasha attracts.”
