Making It Happen 2018

A free day of inspiration, advice and networking for emerging producers

Are you an aspiring producer or an artist who wants to produce your own work?

After the success of Making It Happen in 2016, Tamasha brings you another day of inspiring and informative presentations, discussions and surgeries to help you take those first steps towards seeing your ideas realised on stage.

Hear directly from industry professionals, learn about funding streams, and network with peers. The day will include:

Arts Council England Projects Grants presentation

Tamasha’s Artistic Director Fin Kennedy will talk you through the ACE application process for its Projects Grants funding stream, and dissects how one of Tamasha’s past productions has been funded. Fin lends years of experience to better equip you and spur your confidence in making applications to further your work.

Producers' Panel and Q&A

Meet our panel of theatre producers who will talk about their professional journey, what their current roles entail, and how they work with artists. The panel includes:

  • Despina Tsatsas, Executive Director, Young Vic
  • Stella Kanu, Executive Producer, Ovalhouse
  • Rafia Hussain, IGNITE Associate Producer, Derby Theatre
  • Aidan Grounds, Senior Producer, Nuffield Southampton Theatres

You can also submit any questions you might have about approaching venues, raising finance, budgeting, marketing and PR, and more.

Theatre Marketplace

Meet organisations who will be sharing their own development opportunities including: Stage One, Talawa, Young Vic, Bush Theatre, Old Vic, Theatre 503 and Camden People's Theatre.
