Showcases, Platforms, Start Nights
These events give you the chance to try out your work in front of an audience with the support of directors, dramaturgs and professional actors.
Our New Writing Platforms at Hampstead Theatre in 2006 and 2008 showcased seven specially-commissioned 15-minute pieces by writers Alia Akram, Mina Maisuria, Sonia Likhari, Alan Jones and Nina Patel.
Our 2009 Start Night at Hampstead Theatre presented a further six works-in-progress by Nessa Muthy, J K Tina Basi, Najan Ward, Faisal A Qureshi and Ansuya Nathan. It was also where extracts of Nimmi Harasgama's Auntie Netta's Holiday for Asylum were first performed, before a full show as part of Battersea Arts Centre's Scratch Festival.
