Peter Singh and Muzz Khan (Snookered actors) in Propeller workshop 2010

"As an aspiring director, Kristine is an inspirational character, because her actor-centred approach actually demonstrates her respect and faith in actors’ talents as well as her own specific art of providing the tools to find and make a performance."

Observers: The Arrival at Alchemy

16 – 22 April 2012

Application Deadline: 4 April 2012

Part of Southbank Centre’s Alchemy Festival

Tamasha would like to offer the opportunity to observe director Kristine Landon-Smith during the next phase of The Arrival. This placement would be particularly beneficial to directors and artists interested in physical theatre, circus and working closely with an actor’s cultural context and language.

Two observers will enjoy a one-week placement, observing Kristine as she leads actors and performers from Circus Space through five days of rehearsals and nine extract performances as part of the Southbank Centre’s Alchemy Festival. This opportunity is offered free of charge.

The Arrival is a new theatre-circus collaboration between Tamasha and Circus Space inspired by the graphic novel by Oscar-winner Shaun Tan - the story of a man who leaves everything to find work in a strange land.
