The Individual Actor
A series of one-day acting workshops led by Tamasha’s Artistic Director, Kristine Landon-Smith, in partnership with the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama.
Kristine’s role as a director is primarily concerned with the actor. She views a director’s job to be to make the actor good in action in any piece of work, be it scripted or devised. Her approach engages in depth with the actor as an individual, and focuses on how to bring the actor’s personality, culture and background to the work. Central to her practice is the reinforcement of how to ‘play’ well together.
Each workshop will offer ten actors the chance explore ways to bring their own individuality and cultural influences to their work. The course will also involve intensive exploration in ‘play’ and improvisation, and how to bridge the gap between improvisation and script work.
Who is it for?
These courses are open to actors of any cultural background who are actively pursuing a career in professional theatre, and who are keen to explore Tamasha’s unique actor-centred approach.
