Development Manager

Tamasha, on behalf of the London 21 Consortium, representing five of London’s most dynamic and pioneering performing arts companies (Tamasha, Border Crossings, Boundless Theatre, CASA Festival and ice&fire), seek an aspiring Development Manager.  The successful candidate will lead on fundraising and development across the Consortium, working closely with senior management to plan, deliver and secure long-term growth.

In Britain and elsewhere, there is a deeply disturbing move away from internationalism towards nationalism; a tendency to build walls rather than bridges, to exclude cultures rather than to learn from them.  London 21 responds to this by asserting the power of performance to bring people into contact with something apparently “other”, and to transform alienation into empathy through profound encounters on the most direct, human level.

At the same time as our work is becoming so immediately necessary, it is also losing access to many of its traditional sources of funding – most obviously the European Union.  Our five companies have joined together in the London 21 Consortium with the aim of exploring new forms of collaboration, and to develop new funding streams.  Working across five valuable, distinct but intertwined organisations, you will have the opportunity to break new ground in the way performing arts is funded and made.
